Nemesis was formed in late 2008. We weathered the storm of the usual line-up changes before deciding that the only way to complete this album would be to do all the work ourselves, between just the two core members.

Recording took every spare minute we could find whilst keeping the demands of the world at bay, staying up late and getting up early again and again, doing without social time, sleep or food. And doing it again and again.

We recorded the entire album in Mandrake's bedroom, learning the techniques as we went along. We built acoustic treatment using loft insulation, boards, cotton sheets and a staple gun. We used nothing but free plug-ins and Reaper. The PC was nothing special either: 2GHz dual core with 2GB of RAM. Everything was 100% above board and totally DIY. We even soldered up our own cables. What money we had to spare went on a decent vocal mic and an SM57. (Although we actually used an old £30 mic for Bane's guitar!)
